Back in March we learned that the Pilot episode episode of Target would be filming in Vancouver Canada. Though the average TV viewer is propably unaware of it, quite a number of TV shows and movies have been shot in the Canadian city. Shows like X-files and Battlestar Galactica and movies like X Men or Alien vs Predator.
The Pilot for Human Target was shot at Vancouver Film Studios and that is likely where they are set to return to sometime in July. Vancouver Film Studios comprises thirteen sound stages, production offices, a private gym and a its own heli-pad.
As a native Bay Area/San Franciscan...I find it rather insulting for a show to use SF as their home...when all the locations are in Canada. Just "say" it's from wherever..rather than doing that poser bs down to the police cars with that cheesey tape saying "SFPD"...street signs look nothing like the real signs, waterfront is all wrong, etc.
Hi, Mike!
I would not worry about it so much. Every time I watch a show set in DC I have to laugh at all the gaffs like the taxis and busses being the wrong color or how DC, Quantico, Bethesda and Norfolk all seem to be about 10 minutes away from each other. Granted, SF is a beautiful city and I would rather see more actual SF scenery but it is cheaper to film in Canada.
As a native San Franciscan/Bay Area baby I'm gratified that any show still WANTS to film here when they make it so difficult! Luckily the city itself is still lovely for camera shots, but they are smart to not always use real inside city footage as there is all too often some store owner or resident making it difficult to shoot. Free publicity for a city that is NOT very smart about being business friendly!
