Human Target Premiere Postponed

Human Target fans will have to wait an extra week for the long awaited season premiere.

FOX has announced that "Human Target" will now launch its second season at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 1, one week after the originally scheduled premiere.

Anyone still planning on tuning in on the 24th wont be completely disappointed, FOX is currently planning on airing last season's "Human Target" finale on that date followed by the premiere of "The Good Guys".

According to hitfix "Human Target only started Season Two production last Wednesday and won't complete principle photography until this weekend. The new premiere date gives the show, which tends to feature extensive effects work, a little extra wiggle room, while also setting up a fall with fewer "Human Target" repeats and interruptions."

HTO: Matt you recently came from working on Chuck, it's also an action show but has a lot of humor in it to. Do you plan keeping this action comedy mix on Human Target?

Matthew Miller: Yes, even more so. Even more comedy and more fun with the characters. Now that we're adding an ensemble, it should give us more opportunity for comedy as well as drama.

HTO: Have you read any of the Human Target comics or graphic novels? What is it about the story of Human Target that prompted you to accept the roll of writer on the show?

Matthew Miller: I love the Show's blend of action and comedy and I've always been a huge fan of that genre, having done work on Chuck. When Warner Brothers called, it was too good an opportunity to pass up. I was excited with all the different directions we could take it.

HTO: The show has had a rocky start in the ratings. It ' s small success may be due in part to it's sharing a day with America Idol. Why has the network decided to keep the show around and how do they plan to make changes to increase viewership?

Matthew Miller: They gave us another shot because there were so many loyal fans the first time around. Also, with the addition of female characters and a slightly more character driven show they felt it could reach a bigger audience. They gave us a real vote of confidence for Season Two.

HTO: Some call a Friday timeslot the death slot. Are you worried about the new timeslot?

Matthew Miller: Not worried at all about the new timeslot. It did pretty well for the X-FILES on Fox.

HTO: Why has Indira Varma come on board, what do you hope she can bring to the show?

Matthew Miller: We think she's an incredibly engaging, beautiful and talented actress who can be a formidable boss for our team and a romantic rival for Chance.

HTO: In some episodes viewers might notice power lines or other bits of background that do not quite look American. How do you meet the challenges of filming in Canada?

Matthew Miller: This season we are going to play the show for San Francisco clearer. Where Chance was hiding last year, he won't be this year. San Francisco will be come a real character in the show.

HTO: Do you expect to be filming at any other more exotic locations?

Matthew Miller: Yes, the show will have a much more international feel. We'll be going to places as obscure as Nepal, other places include Switzerland, Paris... all over the world.

HTO: Are there any upcoming guest stars that you can share with us?

Matthew Miller: Lennie James and Lenor Varela will be resurrecting their characters, Baptiste and Maria.

HTO: Has any members of the cast discussed with you potential storylines for there characters. Or knowing some of your actor's talents do you have any plans for episodes that might highlight a person's particular skill?

Matthew Miller: Yes. All the episodes this season will have emotional stakes not only for the person whose life is in danger, but for one of our lead characters as well.

HTO: A lot of fans have questions on what other countries will be showing Human Target and on what channels. Do you happen to know of any other counties where the show will air?

Matthew Miller: I have no idea. I'm sure it will air internationally but I don't know where.

HTO: Finally is there anything you would like to share with the fans viewing our website www.humantargetonline?

Matthew Miller: Season One set the bar extremely high and we look forward to bringing an even more electrifying action series-- We're going to do everything we can to satisfy the loyal fans and bring in a new audience.

Human Target Autograph Signing at Comic Con 2010

The cast of Human Target had about as much fun as the fans at this years autograph signing. New Show Runner Matthew Miller, who is already famous for his work on the hit show Chuck, was wishing his wife was there to see the long lines of fans. "She's never going to believe anyone would want my autograph" he says with a broad smile. Meanwhile down the line Chi McBride was the first to get a glimpse of a fan dressed as Guerrero and quickly points her out to Jackie Earle Haley who poses for a few photos with the fan.

Indira Varma Joins Target Cast

The Hollywood Reporter reveals a new cast member to join Human Target.

Indira Varma (HBO's "Rome") is joining the show as "Ilsa," a widow with a vast fortune.
Christopher Chance and his team will assist Ilsa in the show's second season opener this fall. In turn, Ilsa will purchase Chance's protection service company and become his superior -- "a female Charlie."
The boys will gain access to her financial resources, but also now have to answer to a tough boss.
"Human Target" has been an unusual show in that broadcast TV tends to skew female and nearly all (if not all) primetime shows on the major networks have regular female characters. With "Target" moving to Fridays this fall, the cast addition could help broaden the show's appeal.

If you have your tickets to Comic Con be sure not to miss the Human Target Panel and signings. You can meet the cast at the WB booth in the main hall on Friday from 5:45 - 6:15. You will have a second chance to catch them on Saturday from 3:30 - 4:15. Later in the day on Saturday at 6:15 pm - 7:00 pm there will be a screening and a panel discussion in Room 6BCF.

Target Makes the Move to Friday Nights

Fox revealed in its 2010 schedule released today that Human Target will Make the move to Friday nights at 8:00 pm followed by "The Good Guys" at 9:00 -a new series by Matt Nix' (Burn Notice). Wednesdays will now air "Lie to Me" at 8:00 followed by "Hell's Kitchen."

Human Target Season Two is Official!

The rumors apear to be true, Human Target will have a season two! The thirteen episode run will start in the fall of 2010 on Fox. However we can't confirm as of yet the Matthew Miller as showrunner rumor, so far the official release sent to us by Warner Brothers lists the following:

Human Target Gets a Season Two!

Though there is still no official word, EW claims their sources say Target has been given the green light for a 13 episode second season!

With a clear goal to make the second even better than the first, Fox executives are reported to have brought on board Chuck co-executive producer Matthew Miller to serve as co-showrunner alongside Jonathan Steinberg.
